Stop Press -- From Canberra
Stop press -- this is the Choongs' FIRST blog from sleepy Canberra.
Have to say it's been a difficult time for us, particularly for Joey. I mean, both Layfong and I are used to moving every few years, but for Joey -- when he left Singapore for Canberra (via Sydney, mind you!), he was only a wee 7 months!
I remember when we had to put him under the shower at the beginning of autumn, and he bawled his lungs out ... now I can understand how God the Father feels when His children go thru' pain.
Now, however, we're settling into the general stride of things -- have found an apartment, got a used Corolla, found an exciting church, etc...
Things is, Canberra is really slooooooooow -- the first thing my supervisor said when we got there was that 'dont expect things to happen as fast as it does back at home'. Told the staffers in my department at a meeting, and they laughed their heads off.
I remember how before we left in Feb, God told me at least two things -- that times will be tough, but that He'd take care of everything; two, that it was time to grow deeper in the Lord.
